BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 
Sandy Douglas - Grandparent of 2005 CHSC Graduate
Sandy Douglas joined the Board of Directors during her granddaughter's senior year at Colorado High School Charter in 2005. She has had the opportunity to evaluate the program at both the Board-level and student-level and is assisting CHSC as it completes its year-long Self-Study in cooperation with the Colorado League of Charter Schools.
 
Gary Glasgow - Attorney, private practice and member of the Colorado Bar Association
Gary Glasgow has a passion for organizations that help kids and provides professional legal advice and leadership to Colorado High School Charter. He is an active member of the Kiwanis Foundation and will also be serving on the school's Academic Accountability Committee.

 
Karon Glasgow - Paralegal
Karon Glasgow also shares a passion for helping kids and has committed to assisting Colorado High School Charter with the legal activities and corporate filings, and with expanding the school's network and resources throughout the local communities.

 
Derrick Haynes - Scholarship Coordinator, Metropolitan State College of Denver
Derrick Haynes joined CHSC Board of Directors in 2004.  Because he works in the University setting, Derrick is helping Colorado High School Charter prepare students for post-secondary educational options through academic accountability.  His background includes counseling, organizational development and management/leadership to help organizations reach their goals and objectives.
 
Neil Krauss - Assistant Vice Chancellor for Business and Financial Affairs, University of Denver
Neil Krauss joined the Board of Directors in 2004. He is helping Colorado High School Charter with financial activities, public relations, and collaborative efforts with the University of Denver. In addition to his work at the University of Denver, Neil has worked as a journalist and as a lobbyist in the legislation. Neil has a personal interest in legislative issues regarding charter schools and keeps CHSC well educated on charter school law.
 
Mary Helen Sandoval - Licensed Realtor, ReMax City Horizons
Mary Helen Sandoval is the current Chairperson of the Colorado High School Charter Board of Directors. She has been a volunteer with the school for more than five years through fundraising efforts and by evaluating students on academic progress. She served as the Executive Director of Mercy Housing and has a thorough knowledge of not-for-profit organizations.

 
Myra Simmons - CHSC Alumni Parent, Regional Transportation District (RTD)
Myra Simmons had a daughter who attended Colorado High School Charter and Myra is committed to supporting the school. She has volunteered for many organizations including Mile High Girl Scouts and as a board of directors member of the Montbello Falcons Athletic Club. She will serve on multiple committees with CHS and was voted the Vice President of the Board for the 2002-2003 year.



COLORADO HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETINGS
As an independent, public charter school, the Board of Directors has monthly meetings that are open to anyone who wants to attend. The Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:00-7:00pm. Meetings are subject to change so contact the school for more information.

VOLUNTEERS to the Board
Gwen Crawford - Owner, Crawford & Associates
Gwen Crawford has been an active contributor to Colorado High School Charter and served on the Board of Directors for three years. She is currently volunteering for board recruiting and fundraising and provides a month-long workshop for CHSC students in their goal-setting and future-planning efforts.
