| Why is Colorado High School different? | The idea driving the program is to give students another choice, another option, another opportunity to finish high school. Completion of high school then adds to a student's future options. The staff believes that education is a key to experience more in life, to go beyond boundaries of racism, economics, and other limitations. The curriculum includes a monthly 'block' system, so students can start at the beginning of each month. This system allows students to enter throughout the school year and not have to wait for the end of a semester. |
| How does Colorado High School help students? | Colorado High School Charter offers small classes that have a maximum of 18 students. The school offers two sessions - day or evening and accommodates 120 students. Additionally, monthly progress reports, early- hour make-up and tutoring, monthly parent-teacher conferences, a caring and professional faculty, numerous school enrichment activities and a staff mentoring program provide students with support and guidance. |
| Who is eligible for admission? | Students must be at least 16 years old to enter the school. Colorado High School Charter offers an innovative program that focuses on core subjects enriched by life-skills so students can meet their graduation requirements within two to three years (depending on transferred credits). |
| When I graduate, do I receive a GED or a high school diploma? | Students receive a high school diploma when they meet all graduation requirements. Colorado High School Charter is a Denver Public Schools Charter and follows the standards set forth by the State of Colorado Department of Education. Colleges, vocational schools, the military and the work force accept a Colorado High School Charter diploma. |
