Frequently Asked Questions:

How is CHSC different?

1. Smaller classes (20 or less) allow students who struggle in large conventional high schools the opportunity to build relationships of support.
2. Structured environment with clear expectations for behavior and academics.
3. Exceptional staff and teacher support.
4. Block structure provides five entry points and frequent feedback on academic progress.

How does CHSC help students?

CHSC offers two sessions - day school or night school and accommodates 200 students. Additionally, frequent progress reports, daily study hall and tutoring available, parent-teacher conferences held each block, a caring and professional faculty, numerous school enrichment activities and a staff mentoring program provide students with the support and guidance needed for a successful school experience.

Who is eligible for admission?

To register, students must have completed the ninth grade. Upon registration, students are required to interview with an administrator and complete the MAP assessment test for proper class placement.

When I graduate, do I receive a GED or a high school diploma?

Students receive a high school diploma when they meet all graduation requirements (see Graduation Requirements page). CHSC is a Denver Public School Charter and follows the standards set forth by the State of Colorado Department of Education. Universities, colleges, vocational schools, and all branches of the military accept CHSC's diploma.
